Childcare from 6 weeks to school age

Early Years Learning Framework or EYLF
The EYLF is a guide which consists of Principles, Practices and 5 main Learning Outcomes along with each of their sub outcomes, based on identity, community, wellbeing, learning and communicating. The Learning Outcomes are to be used to reflect on children’s learning and focus on what a child can achieve rather than what they can’t. The Early Years Learning Framework enables childcare professionals, educators and early childhood teachers within an early childhood setting to extend and enrich children’s learning, provide opportunities for children to develop a foundation for learning and for children to become successful learners.

All rooms program to the Early Years Learning Framework according to their children and their abilities. Each room completes Learning Stories and Observations on all children so that they can Program to the children’s needs, wants and likes. Each program has extended activities to follow up on the children’s learning and is presented in the rooms for all parents to see at any time they wish. We also encourage parent input and sibling participation.

In our  Nursery  the children are aged 6 weeks to 2 years. We provide age appropriate activities in accordance to the Early years learning framework with books, toys, set activities and their own Garden and outdoor play area. Nursery children have nappies, sheets and cows milk supplied. Parents will need to provide their own formula.

In our  Junior Kindy 1 and 2 Rooms  the children are aged from 2 to 3 years. We provide age appropriate activities in accordance to the Early years learning framework with books, toys, set activities and their own Chook Pen and outdoor play area.

In our  Senior Kindy  room the children are aged from 3 to 4 years. We provide age appropriate activities in accordance to the Early years learning framework with books, toys, set activities and a newly refurbished outdoor play area with a new sand pit and bike track for the children to enjoy.

In our  Kindergarten   room the children are aged from 4 to 5 years. We provide the approved Kindergarten Curriculum with a Qualified Teacher to lead the class five days a week. There is a smart board, where the children learn their Jolly phonics, numbers and letters in preparation for school. They have their own uniform and routine separate to the rest of the centre. The Kindergarten children have also been restoring our communal garden with herbs, trees, Vegies, plants and flowers. They share the outdoor play area with the Senior Kindy children. The children in Kindergarten attend Orientation Days held by the local primary schools to assist the transition from childcare to primary school.
